The policy implemented by our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov aimed at modernizing the country's oil and gas sector, increasing the production efficiency of mineral resources, and broadly introducing modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities into production processes is being successfully realized. Thanks to the Head of State’s continuous support for strengthening the material and technical base of the fuel and energy complex and developing innovative solutions, the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan is elevating international cooperation to a new level.

In accordance with these programs, a series of productive working meetings were held with executives and specialists of the world's leading IT entity, "Huawei," as part of the working visit of representatives from the "Turkmennebit" and "Turkmengaz" State Concerns to the People's Republic of China.

During the visit, representatives of Huawei introduced the Turkmen delegation to their new capabilities in the fields of telecommunications, IT, and smart devices. Using practical examples, they explained to the Turkmen side how these technologies are utilized in urban management, public security, and the financial sector. Additionally, at the center in Shanghai, the Turkmen representatives were informed about how new products undergo laboratory testing prior to being launched into production.

At a special working meeting held on September 16, 2026, main attention was focused on the digital and intelligent transformation of the oil and gas industry. During the talks, Huawei's international experience in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Big Data analytics, and "smart" production—accumulated alongside leading global oil and gas enterprises such as CNPC (China) and ADNOC (UAE)—was reviewed. The concept proposed by Huawei, "Cloud + AI + Big Data + High-Speed Connectivity + Production Data," enables a high degree of digitalization across production processes, ranging from geological exploration to pipeline monitoring.

The meeting was attended by the relevant head of Huawei and the company's Vice President for Central Asia, Taylor Zhou, who delivered presentations on regional experience and future projects.

As a result of the negotiations, Huawei presented broad opportunities for the digital transformation of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex. The Chinese side proposed joint pilot projects for integrating production data and implementing artificial intelligence, inviting the Turkmen side to collaborate on projects in this domain. It was emphasized that these initiatives can be arranged and successfully executed in full compliance with the legislation of Turkmenistan, information security requirements, and the operational characteristics of the State Concerns "Turkmennebit" and "Turkmengaz".
