    Official news Turkmen President Receives Japanese State Minister

    President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Japan’s State Minister for economy, trade and industry Kenji Yamada, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit, Turkmen state media reported Friday.

    Yamada thanked the President for receiving him and for the hospitality extended to him, saying Japan attaches great importance to developing multifaceted relations with Turkmenistan. He also conveyed warm greetings from Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

    The guest highlighted the importance of Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s visits to Japan to attend the first summit of the “Central Asia-Japan” Dialogue and Expo 2025, the World Exposition. He said the holding of Turkmenistan’s National Day as the first national day at the exposition increased interest in Turkmenistan.

    The President expressed gratitude for the kind words and said he was confident that the results of meetings to be held during Yamada’s visit would make an important contribution to developing Turkmen-Japanese economic relations.

    The meeting also covered key areas for developing friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Japan. The sides noted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and the “Central Asia-Japan” Dialogue in strengthening cooperation.

    At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed confidence that Turkmen-Japanese relations and effective cooperation would continue to develop for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
