    Turkmenistan is preparing for a visit from the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development: the agenda includes the oil and gas sector

    Next month, the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will visit Turkmenistan. This was mentioned in the report of a Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which was held via digital system on June 26. As the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs reported, with a view to further developing bilateral cooperation, relevant documents have been prepared on such key areas of strategic partnership as the fuel and energy and transport sectors, ecology, and the financial and banking sphere. As part of the preparations for the visit of the head of this organization to Turkmenistan, a working meeting was held with the participation of the heads of relevant domestic ministries and sectoral agencies, as well as the head of the EBRD's representative office in Turkmenistan. The subject of discussion was the development of draft documents planned for signing during this visit. Having heard the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that our country attaches particular importance to strengthening relations with authoritative financial institutions and international banks. Turkmenistan has been successfully cooperating with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for many years, the Head of State emphasized, instructing the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs to continue work on developing productive cooperation.
