On June 24, a regular meeting of a Turkmen-Kazakhstani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Astana. Under the co-chairmanship of a Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev and a Deputy Prime Minister — Head of the Government Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev, delegations of the two countries discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, agriculture, the transport and logistics sector, the oil and gas industry, education and culture. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybayev noted Kazakhstan's readiness to develop the full range of bilateral relations. A final protocol was signed following the meeting. On the sidelines of the Commission meeting, a business forum was held, bringing together representatives of government bodies, development institutions and business circles of the two countries. Approximately 40 Turkmen and 100 Kazakhstani companies took part in the event. A number of bilateral documents were signed following the business forum.
