    09 Feb 26

A project to connect 21 villages in Afghanistan’s Badghis province to Turkmenistan’s power grid has been launched in the Sang Atash district.

The project is being implemented by Breshna Sherkat, Afghanistan’s state-owned power utility, Bakhtar News reported Sunday.

The project is valued at $2 million and is expected to provide electricity to about 7,000 families. Construction is scheduled to be completed within five months.

Earlier, Abdul Bari Omar, chief executive of Afghanistan’s energy company, said the route map for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line project has been finalized and will be submitted to the Turkmen side in the near future.
