Samantha Carl-Yoder, a representative of the major American company «Bownstein», told a «GA» correspondent that the TAPI project demonstrates Turkmenistan's leadership in expanding opportunities in the region and noted that Turkmenistan's gratitude for President of USA Donald Trump's support for the project was very well received in Washington.
«It is a great pleasure for me to be back in Ashgabat and participate in the Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Forum this year. «Bownstein» is honored to work with the Government of Turkmenistan, particularly on the large-scale Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, providing relevant consulting services», shared S. Carl-Yoder.
Our interviewee explained that «Bownstein» is directly cooperating with the administration of the USA President Trump, the White House, the National Security Council, the Department of Commerce, and the State Department to secure support for the project from USA government agencies.
As S. Carl-Yoder emphasised, Turkmenistan possesses vast natural gas reserves, and «Bownstein» is committed to helping promote this valuable energy resource by facilitating its export to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India via the pipeline currently under construction.
«The remarks made a few days ago by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, regarding USA President Donald Trump's support for the project were remarkable and very well received in Washington. I believe this is an excellent opportunity for Turkmenistan to deepen its relations with the United States and to approach cooperation from a new perspective in the context of the US reassessment of its relations with Afghanistan», - said S. Carl-Yoder.
The «Bownstein» representative emphasised that independent, neutral Turkmenistan has taken a very strong position on issues of regional security and energy diversification.
«The implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline is important for several reasons. First, it will ensure the supply of natural gas to Afghanistan, providing humanitarian support to its people. Second, this will open up prospects for further infrastructure development beyond the energy sector, thereby creating opportunities for economic development not only in Turkmenistan but also in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Third, the energy interconnectedness of the four countries will be crucial for the architecture of geopolitical relations. I am confident that the TAPI project will be fundamental to improving people's well-being, demonstrating Turkmenistan's leadership in expanding opportunities in this important region», - said Samantha Karl-Yoder.
