New Gas Well Commissioned at Turkmenistan’s Galkynysh Field

    16 Jun 25

A new gas flow has been obtained from production well No. 264 at the Galkynysh gas field, following drilling work carried out by specialists from the Türkmennebitgazburawlaýyş (Turkmen Gas Drilling) Department under the order of the Marygazçykaryş Directorate, as reported by Turkmenistan’s state news agency on Monday.

The Türkmennebitgazburawlaýyş (Turkmen Gas Drilling) Department drilled more than 4,000 meters deep at production well No. 264 of the Galkynysh gas field.

A productive layer between 3,852 and 4,011 meters was tapped, yielding a gas flow rate of 2.24 million cubic meters per day.

According to the report, ongoing operations at the Galkynysh field reflect the success of national efforts to develop the sector, increase export potential, and boost production capacity.

Recently, specialists from the Lebapnebitgazgözleg expedition of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation recorded a strong flow of natural gas from an exploratory well drilled at the Northern Gazlydepe field.
