A substantial natural gas flow has been obtained from an exploratory well drilled at the Northern Gazlydepe field by the Lebapnebitgazgözleg expedition of the state corporation Türkmengeologiýa, as reported by the Nebit-Gaz newspaper on Tuesday.

According to report the expedition is led by Aganyyaz Akyýew, and its specialists confirm that the well's output reaches 420,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 5 metric tons of gas condensate per day.

“Our exploratory well revealed a substantial natural gas reserve at depths ranging from 3,085 to 3,089 meters and from 3,108 to 3,123 meters,” said the expedition’s chief geologist, Sunnet Hatamov.

Exploration and survey work is also being actively carried out in the Üňüzaňyr area of the Garagum Desert as part of a joint plan developed and approved by the state concern Türkmengaz and the state corporation Türkmengeologiýa. The plan, covering the years 2024 to 2026, includes the drilling of exploratory, appraisal, and production wells in sulfur-free gas fields under their supervision.

Currently, drilling of new wells is progressing at a high pace at the Tebigy and Northern Köseşor sites.
