    President of Turkmenistan Meets UN Deputy Secretary-General in Ashgabat

    President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UN Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima on Monday in Ashgabat. They discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, including preparations for the UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled for August in Ashgabat.

    President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to expanding engagement with international organizations, highlighting strategic cooperation with the UN as a key foreign policy priority, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

    Head of state highlited the importance of developing transport and communication infrastructure, describing Turkmenistan as a crucial link in global multimodal transport corridors. He also pointed out the country’s strategic location, which positions it as a key hub in the North-South and East-West transport corridors.

    At the end of the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies and wished Rabab Fatima success in her mission.
