Türkiýe and Turkmenistan have reached a historic agreement on the supply of Turkmen gas to Türkiýe. On February 10, 2025, a corresponding agreement was signed between BOTAŞ and Türkmengaz. According to the Ambassador, gas supplies will begin on March 1, 2025 and will be carried out through Iran under a barter scheme. This event was the result of many years of negotiations and marks an important step in strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries. The agreement provides for the supply of up to 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan stressed that this agreement is an important step towards ensuring energy security for both Türkiýe and the region as a whole. He also noted that Turkmenistan is a reliable partner in the global energy market.
