Banu Aslan

Ms. Banu Aslan is the Director General of Vocational Services at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, where she has held director general-level responsibilities for 11 years across different departments. With an academic background in mechanical engineering and law, including a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, she combines technical expertise, legal knowledge and public administration experience in shaping policies and regulatory frameworks for the construction and building sectors. Her work encompasses the development and improvement of building regulations and technical standards, with a particular focus on building energy efficiency, sustainable construction and the integration of digital solutions. She also promotes international cooperation in research and development and represents the Ministry in international initiatives and platforms, including those associated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Conference on Building Energy and Climate (ICBC). She has also served as a Board Member of the Association of Architects and Engineers of the Turkic World, contributing to professional cooperation and knowledge exchange across the region.
